Jim Hamilton Scholarship
Jim Hamilton's fascination with photography developed into a lifelong passion which he pursued with distinction as a professional photographer. In his later years, many knew him as "The Darkroom Guy", specializing in darkroom equipment, conducting business online and touring the state with his wife, "Cricket", to participate in photo shows. His passion for helping others became the greatest source of Jim's happiness near the end of his life, as he shared his experience with others who needed help. Even as he became physically weakened by cancer, his giving spirit compelled him to continue to help others and guide them in making photographic decisions and learning the craft of photography.
In tribute to his love for photography and learning, the Jim Hamilton Scholarship Fund for Aspiring Photographers has been established. The Jim Hamilton Scholarship is awarded based on a photographer's passion to learn and excel photographically, and financial need.
Deadline to apply for Scholarships was December 31, 2007. Notification of recipients will start on January 15, 2008.
