To balance your passion and love for photography, while maintaining a successful business can be a challenge at best. Janel will help you draw on your technical expertise to create images with emotional impact in the exciting, exotic locations you’ll see on the cruise. The class is guaranteed to restore your passion for creating images.
Janel will use storytelling combined with creative hands on assignments and student critiques to build a foundation for creating images with artistic intent. Janel’s cruise workshop will be centered on imagery created in the Mexico ports of Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.
Janel’s easy going style will provide a casual class environment in which you can learn, be inspired and still have plenty of time for fun!

Light naturally will be the topic of the day. The morning will have a lecture/slide show on natural light, followed with hands on demonstration and a class assignment. Break for lunch. In the afternoon we will be editing our assignments from the morning and reviewing them. The next segment, we will be discussing the importance of light in the story telling aspect of our art. We will have an outdoor shoot in the late afternoon with natural light in mind.
For those of you who want a little extra help, Janel will be available for demonstrations in the morning hours. There will be a time and place designated in the afternoon for a special shoot for those of you who would like to participate. The day will be spent enjoying the sights and working on your creative assignment.
Today will be an art day. The morning will start with editing and reviewing assignments from the previous day. Mid morning will be spent discussing the Art of photography. Creating emotion through lines, shapes, form, texture, color and mood. Capturing the essence of a scene is key. A creative class assignment will be given. After lunch, we will edit and review the mornings assignment. Thinking out of the box and story telling through our art will be the topic of discussion. You will be inspired through exercises and imagery. The afternoon will end with a creative shoot.
